Bree6: 6-voice analog polyphonic synthesizer

The image showcases the prototype of the Bree6 synthesizer. Though still in its development phase, the Bree6 prototype reflects the core design and functionality of the final product. The synthesizer is photographed in a well-lit environment, with the semi-weighted keyboard. While this image was taken with a cell phone, it offers a glimpse into the sleek and intuitive interface that will define the Bree6. Please note that the final product may feature additional refinements and enhancements.

We invite you to visit our booth at Knobcon and experience the Bree6 firsthand. If you snap a photo of our synthesizer at the event, we’d love to see it! Feel free to share your picture with us—we might feature it on our social media or website.

Estimated release: November 2024

Overview

The Bree6 is a polyphonic analog synthesizer that excels in subtractive synthesis. Its sound generation is entirely analog, delivering warm, authentic tones. Each of the six voices features a Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO), a Voltage Controlled Filter (VCF), and a Voltage Controlled Amplifier (VCA), ensuring that every note is rich and full-bodied.

The Bree6 combines the best of both analog and digital worlds. While the core sound generation is analog, a microcontroller digitally processes control signals, managing a Low-Frequency Oscillator (LFO) and two ADSR-type Envelope Generators (EG). This approach provides precision and flexibility, allowing for detailed sound shaping.

To enhance your sonic palette, the Bree6 includes an onboard effects processor with chorus and delay. The interface is designed to be simple and intuitive, allowing for quick and easy sound creation.

Connectivity options include MIDI, USB, balanced stereo audio outputs, and a headphone output, making the Bree6 versatile for both studio and live performance.

Keyboard

Experience Superior Playability

The GS Music Bree6 Keyboard version features a high-quality 37-key semi-weighted keyboard, perfect for musicians who demand both precision and expressiveness in their performance. The semi-weighted design provides a natural, responsive touch, making it ideal for a wide range of playing styles.

FATAR TP/9: A Keyboard for Professionals

At the heart of the Bree6 Keyboard lies the FATAR TP/9 keybed, a renowned choice among professional musicians and synthesizer enthusiasts. This premium keybed offers smooth, consistent action across all 37 keys, ensuring that every nuance of your performance is captured.

Aftertouch for Expressive Control

Take your sound to the next level with aftertouch capabilities, allowing you to add depth and emotion to your playing. Whether you're subtly modulating a filter or adding vibrato to your leads, the aftertouch feature provides an additional layer of expression that brings your music to life.

Built for Durability and Performance

Constructed to withstand the rigors of both studio and live performance, the Bree6 Keyboard is designed for musicians who need reliability and quality. The FATAR TP/9 ensures that you can trust your instrument to deliver, no matter where your music takes you.

Signal path

The signal path is completely analog, featuring one VCO per voice, a 4-pole low pass VCF and a VCA. The control voltages are digitally generated, including an LFO, 2 ADSR-type envelope generators. Finally, it has a stereo digital effects processor with Delay and Chorus.

Oscillators

It features one VCO plus sub oscillator per voice. Each oscillator has 2 different waveforms: sawtooth and pulse. There is a fine-tuning adjustment and a transpose option, allowing tune adjustment up to +/- 2 octaves. Tuning can also be modulated with the LFO. PWM can be adjusted and modulated with the LFO.

The autotuning algorithm takes about 1 second to complete. All the voices are tuned in parallel, making a lot faster than usual.

Filter

The filter is a 4-pole ladder-type low-pass filter with resonance control. It can be modulated with EG1, this modulation an also be affected by velocity. It can also be modulated with the LFO. On the other hand, it can be controlled by the modulation wheel or aftertouch.

Chorus

The chorus effect is an “ensemble” chorus type, featuring 4 delay lines. Each delay line has its own internal LFO. There is one control, that affects rate, depth and mix at the same time in a convenient way.

Delay

The delay is stereo, with its maximum delay time being 1 second. There are individual controls for the delay time, feedback and mix.

LFO

There is one LFO with 5 waveshapes: triangle, ramp up, ramp down, square and random with sample and hold.

Envelope generators

There are two ADSR-type envelope generators. There are controls for attack, decay, sustain and release.

Stereo

By default, the voices have a stereo panning from left to right. Voices can also be all at the center.

Presets

The synth can store up to 512 presets.

MIDI Polyphonic expression

MIDI Polyphonic expression is supported by the Bree6.

Arpeggiator and sequencer

The keyboard version features an arpeggiator and sequencer
